ABOUT OUR INSTITUTION & ACCREDITATION:

Our institution offers a highly diversified
educational base that encompasses but is not limited to topics in:
psychology, sociology, philosophy, reason & logic, education, business
management, organizational behavior, biology, chemistry, counseling,
mathematics, theology, history, music and others.
Our school uses the most advanced pedagogical
methodology and is accredited in Cognitive Mentoring by the International
Association of Cognitive Mentoring Therapists (I.A.C.M.T.). "Cognitive
Thinking" is the highest degree of human thinking possible and, therefore,
reflects the highest degree of educational engagement and benefit that can be
had. Study at our school involves a heavy emphasis on essay writing, research,
reasoning and interaction with qualified expert professors in every class. Our
courses are recognized by the educational field as cognitive and beneficial for
people of all levels of education.
Because our studies are designed to be
engaged at the college and graduate level, our students pass cognitive
examinations by screening professors. This process ensures that our students are
able to handle advanced college level coursework with the emphasis being on
cognitive thinking proclivities that
are not prevalent in the majority of college bound graduates nor salient in
society. Our students have been personally evaluated and are under the direct
training, supervision and mentoring of our professors who have all authored
university level texts and are well sought after educators worldwide.
Course Equivalency
Our course load is equivalent to graduate
level in content and delivery. Each student works within a group of student
peers and an assigned faculty member. The student explores the coursework and
prepares projects while in lecture hall and in their study groups both on and
off campus (or at home via conference calls and chat rooms online).
Our courses prepare students for mastery in
leadership skills using our exclusive methodologies in psychotherapy and
education, thus qualifying the student for the following positions / careers:
Life Coach, Supervisory positions,
Management, Organizational Cognitive Specialist, Industrial Productivity
Specialist, Counselor, Cognitive Mentor Therapist, Industrial Cognitive
Therapist, Ministerial Credentialing as Religious Teachers – Missionaries –
Evangelists and Pastors, Mental Health Counselors - recognized in New York
State among others, Spiritual Counselor, Pastoral Counselor and many others
too numerous to detail here.
Accreditation
Accreditation in the USA is purely a
voluntary process. Accreditation is recognition of a school by an organization
set up to establish guidelines for colleges, schools, and seminaries.
Accreditation is not required in the USA. Accreditation is not a function of the
United States government. There are government recognized accrediting agencies
(associated with the U.S. Department of Education - D.O.E.), and hundreds of
private (non-recognized, independent, unrecognized) accrediting agencies,
associations, commissions, councils, and unions which are not associated in any
manner with the U.S. Department of Education (D.O.E.).
What most
people do not know about accreditation
In addition, the accreditation
process takes a long time because the institution by law must operate without
accreditation for a number of years producing graduating classes in order to
initiate the process. Therefore, accreditation does not verify quality or
standards as this is negated for the first aggregate years of an institution’s
existence.
More to our case is that the regional accrediting
bodies can only accredit that which is traditional. Any new cutting edge
methodology and curriculum cannot be accredited in many cases for the first few
decades until the institution has sufficiently educated many students and the
public is aware of the methodology and its application. So that, in essence,
society must accept new methodologies from unaccredited schools before they can
become mainstream - thusly, accepted for accreditation. The other issue with
this is that without experts of the methodology within the employ of the
accrediting body, how can they evaluate the program or course of study?
Educational bodies are always adding on new courses and methods that are not
accredited.
In our particular case, cognitive mentoring
cannot be regionally accredited because regional accrediting bodies have no way
to evaluate it. Cognitive mentoring is the latest educational / psychological
advance being researched today. It is the only method of transferring cognitive
thinking recognized by educational and psychological researchers. Most or
all of our courses use the andragogical cognitive mentor method developed by our
founder exclusively.
Many religious schools choose not to be
accredited at all. The majority of religious schools (Bible Colleges, Bible
Institutes, Religious Training Schools, and Theological Seminaries) do not
accept, nor seek government endorsement (accreditation) at any level in order to
maintain their separation of church and state.
The only real reason schools seek accreditation
is in order to accept tuition by way of Federal Student Loans. With the high
number of non-scholarship students qualifying for such tuition aid most schools
could not compete nor survive without accepting government guaranteed payment.
Many schools, such as ours, are accredited by
private (independent) accrediting agencies, associations, commissions, councils
and unions (which are not part of any national, state, county, or city
government) in order to maintain a strict separation of church and state policy.
These private (independent) agencies are not recognized, nor endorsed by the
U.S. Department of Education (DOE).
Credits earned by students through non-accredited religious schools are widely
accepted by Faith-based Universities, Bible Colleges, Theological Schools and
Seminaries, Mission Boards, and employers as college-level work. Studies
completed were recognized by the Maryland Board of Education as legitimate
college level studies, and in 2004 by one of the state of Florida's largest
University affiliated hospitals among numerous others.
School Qualifications & Accreditation
Arithmetai University operates in the State of New York under the First
Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America as a religious
tax-exempt organization and under Title 101 - Section 5001 e, f, i, k, and Title
VIII, Article 163 Sec. 8410.4.5 of the New York State Education Law - University
of the State of New York.
We have also received accreditation by the only cognitive mentoring
association in the United States and the world. The International Association of
Cognitive Mentor Therapists certifies its members as possessing cognitive
thinking skills of the caliber to guide and mentor others in this educational
benefit. Our professors have all qualified as executive members and are engaged
in continuing post-graduate work in this new field.
Further, our courses qualify for regional credit by portfolio assessment at
any state or private university having the staff and academic quality to offer
this integral review and evaluation. |
